At least we think it’s Diego Maradona; in fact, we’re pretty sure it is.
The Argentine legend and arguably the best player ever spends a lot of his time in Dubai these days and it appears as if he’s lost little of the divine touch that made him such a great player in the first place.
JOE reader Len Holbrook from Cork is currently living and working in Dubai and managing Dubai Irish FC.
While the team were training on Sunday night, he spotted an instantly recognisable face playing a match on the adjoining pitch and was lucky enough to record him scoring a goal with that famous left foot of his.
Len swears to us that it was Maradona himself and, in fairness, from the footage it almost certainly appears to be him.
While it should be noted that the game appeared to be lacking in pace and intensity, it’s still clear that Diego has still got it.
