Quite a few cyclists have learned the folly of prematurely celebrating a race victory the hard way, but usually it’s fine for them to gloat once they have crossed the finish line and the W has been secured.

That said, one of the basic rules of riding a bike is that your stability will be compromised once you take your hands off the handlebars and 18-year old Noah Branigan was reminded of that in painful fashion after winning the Tour of Somerville in New Jersey at the weekend.

Ouch.

But hey, as the man said, at least he won.
