Video: Didn’t think cycling was dangerous? Think again

Here we have a video of a cycling race that went a little wrong for one rider who happened to be leading the pack. Be warned, pro cyclists might want to look away now.

The Rock Lititz Bike Race on April 29 sounded like it would be a lovely day out for all involved. Except for the bloke in the video above, obviously, as he went home in an ambulance.

Thankfully he was able to stand after the crash so it could have been a lot worse (as in he could have died) and by the looks of it no-one else was seriously injured, so that’s a plus.

The race took place in Lititz, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania last Sunday. It was comprised of elite pros and the country’s best amateur riders. So it wasn’t just a leisurely spin for anyone who was up for it.

We’re not too sure who exactly was involved in the crash – seeing as they’re amateurs – but we do know that the guy in the video must have been made from steel if he was able to stand after an impact like that.

In case you were wondering, the bikes that those guys ride cost anywhere from €2,000 all the way up to €10,000. Seriously.

So we wouldn’t be surprised if the rider above was more worried about the actual bike and less worried about himself.
