Video: Find out what Pat Shortt, Batman and the World Club 7s in Limerick have in common

Joe Harrington

The first ever World Club 7s tournament in Ireland takes place on August 9 and 10…

Limerick is set for a ginormous feast of rugby this August when the city hosts the World Club 7s on the banks of the Shannon.

It’s been attended by some of the biggest clubs in the world like Stade Francais, the Blue Bulls (South Africa), Western Province (SA), Auckland Rugby, NSW Waraths, Saracens and of course Munster will be fielding a strong team.

The Reds have been drawn in Group C along with Fijian side Daveta, San Francisco and Moscow and it will be brilliant to see the Munster 7s team compete in Thomond Park over the two days.

‘Superheroes’ is the theme of the competition, with Superman himself Paul O’Connell being from Munster, so people are encouraged to dress up as their favourite superhero over the weekend.

Pat Shortt is getting very excited about the competition, his favourite superhero is Batman… so check out PatMan showing his support as he walks the streets of New York…

JOE can’t wait to head along and we’ve been on google images all day looking for ‘JOE 90 pictures’ so if you see an odd-faced doll/puppet walking around, that’s us.
