The Telegraph have obtained footage of Mirka Federer allegedly heckling her compatriot in his clash against her husband on Saturday night.

Federer and Wawrinka are believed to have become involved in a heated row following Federer’s victory over his fellow Swiss in the semi-final of the ATP Tour World Finals in London on Saturday night.

The row is believed to have originated after Mirka Federer heckled Wawrinka during the closely-fought semi-final, a match in which Federer saved three match points before going onto win the decisive third set in a tie-break.

The Telegraph have obtained footage which shows Wawrinka reacting to Mirka calling him a cry baby during the latter stages of that decisive third set and relating his frustrations to the umpire having clearly been distracted before a Federer serve.

There had been speculation that the row with Wawrinka had something to do with Federer pulling out of the final against Novak Djokovic on Sunday (he cited a back problem as the reason for his withdrawal) but Federer moved to defuse any lingering tension between the pair last night by tweeting a picture of the Swiss Davis Cup team ahead of their Davis Cup Final against France on Friday.

If there had been any tension between the pair, then surely the textbook ‘rabbit’ gesture Wawrinka makes behind the head of Federer means it’s all rosy in the garden now, right?
