Video: Galway club footballer pings over two sweetly struck 45s with either foot; calls out Niall Morgan to do the same

You responded to the last challenge Niall, are you game enough to respond to this one?

You responded to the last challenge Niall, are you game enough to respond to this one?

Here at JOE, we’ve been privileged to watch some superb displays of Gaelic Football free-taking in the last few months.

Earlier this year, we saw Carlow’s Paul Broderick nail five 45 metre kicks in 45 seconds. Then, we were sent in a video of a club footballer from Derry, Paul Keane of Ballerin GAA Club, knocking over eight 45s and one 55 in the space of 90 seconds. And finally, responding to that challenge, Tyrone ‘keeper Niall Morgan converted nine 45s and one 55 in 82 seconds with all the ease of a man sitting in a dressing gown and a pair of slippers reading the paper of a Saturday afternoon.

Today, another video has come to our attention of Galway footballer Martin Coady from Oughterard, an All-Ireland minor winner who represented the Galway Junior team earlier this year, knocking over two 45s in quick succession, one with his right, one with his left and each as sweetly struck as the last.

Martin doesn’t say it in the video but in the Facebook post above the video you can clearly see that he’s calling out Niall Morgan to come and do likewise, so if Niall or any other ambidextrous free-takers would like to respond to Martin’s challenge, send us in your effort on Twitter, Facebook or to [email protected].

Free-takers of Ireland, the gauntlet has been laid down…
