You have to admire this.
There weren’t many people who took much enjoyment from today’s horrific weather conditions but, as always, there are exceptions to the rule.
In this case, those exceptions were a group of very skilled kayakers from Co. Clare who went racing through the white-water rapids of Ennistymon.

With roads closed these lads in Ennistymon took to the river!! RESPECT!

When questions were raised over the safety of the event, Facebook commenter Kevin J Cahir clarified: The people who are paddling this river are extremely talented and skilled. There was an extensive assessment of the dangers of the Falls early this morning. Safety was set up along the river and all precautions were taken. All indivduals have the required equipment.
