"You see your son run in an Olympic final and he does that, incredible."
JOE caught up with the parents of Thomas Barr - Tommy and Martina Barr - immediately after they had watched their son set a new Irish record and finish fourth in the final of the men's 400m hurdles at the Rio Olympic Games.
"As my eldest daughter always says, 'he's a freak of nature!'" beamed
Thomas' proud father.
"Look at the times that that race was run in," added Martina. "We're so excited!"
