Wayne Rooney has always been a striker of immense talent who plays the game on the edge.
We’ve frequently seen the Man Utd player lose control of his temper and lash out over the years but it’s this insatiable desire to win that also seems to fuel the gifted striker.
Rooney had already announced himself to the world with a stunning strike against Arsenal for Everton and he definitely won over the United fans with that famous debut hat-trick against Fenerbahce but this goal against Newcastle a decade ago today is simply perfect.
We love the fact that Rooney was arguing with the ref in the build-up to this wonderful goal but he channelled all of his frustration, anger and talent into absolutely leathering the ball past Shay Given.
