Thankfully, no horses or riders were injured in this incident at The Pigeons Point to Point meeting yesterday.

Point to Point racing is where the vast majority of Irish horses and riders cut their teeth and learn their trade. And for the horses and riders taking in the first race at The Pigeons Point to Point meeting in Athlone yesterday, they learned all about the carnage that can take place when one horse goes awry.

At the fourth fence, a horse called Tayto Park goes left to avoid the jump, spooking a total of seven horses out of the race.

The good news is that according to the Irish Point to Point website, no horses or riders were hurt during the incident.
