Video: Munster’s Barry O’Mahony’s close-up look at the recent Munster race is really cool

A trip to Father Ted’s house, an in-car sing along and a big pile-on the beach; the Munster race looked like pretty good craic all right.

Or at least it was great craic for Barry O’Mahony and the boys in Group One during the recent Munster race, when players from the Munster squad divided into groups and took alternative routes to Dingle, stopping off for plenty of activities along the way.

Barry’s group, which numbered Conor Murray, Damien Varley, Ivan Dineen, Denis Hurley, Johne Murphy, Shane Buckely and Barry himself, took in the Father Ted house, the Cliffs of Moher, the Tarbert ferry and stops in places like Ballybunion, Abbeyfeale and Tralee before what seemed like a great day altogether came to an end.

Along the way, the group met loads of Munster fans, took part in a big pile-on Kilkee beach and some water activities in Castlegregory, while the attempts at synchronised singing by Barry and Ivan Dineen in the car is something to behold.

For the second year in succession, the race proved to be a great way for Munster fans to interact with their heroes and the players seem to have a ball as well. As for Barry, a career in video production awaits when he eventually hangs up his boots, this is high-quality stuff.
