Menlough took the title three months ago, but Robert Hughes' top-notch score has only recently appeared online.
Depending on what part of the country you live in you may or may not have followed the Galway Intermediate Football championship. If you did you'd know that the final was between Menlough and Claregalway, with Menlough going back up to senior level thanks to a 1-12 to 2-8 win.
At the time one particular score by Menlough's Robert Hughes was highlighted in the match reports. Compared to Maurice Fitzgerald's famous score for Kerry against Dublin in 2011 in the
Connacht Tribune report, it has taken us until now to see just how accurate that description was.
Thanks to this footage from the game we can see that from right over on the sideline, Hughes launches a curling beauty that falls just over the bar. We also have the added bonus of some Grade-A local GAA commentary.

Hughes, who pulled a similar trick in the 2006 final (see below) needs to have a camera follow him to all his matches if he is capable of stuff like this.

Thanks to an anonymous club mate of Hughes for making us aware of the clip
