Video: The last Second Captains ‘Skills of Hurling’ sketch of the season is hilarious

We’ve never seen Davy Fitzgerald looking so well… or intense.

Any stone mad GAA fan will understand the importance of the sprint out of the tunnel in order to lay down a marker to the opposition.

It is important that you stand in a huddle in your dressing before the game, roaring differing versions of “Come on to f*ck lads!”

You then proceed to charge out the dressing room door banging you hurl/fist on the door as you go out and ignoring anybody who wishes you good luck on the way out to the pitch.

The guys at Second Captains created a pretty special video going through the various stages of ‘The Tunnel Sprint’ with the help of former Waterford hurler John Mullane. How many aspects of this video do you recognise?

Plus, the demonstration on how to be a goalie in hurling is brilliant; the skill, the reactions and the accent. Superb.

And finally, we would like to pay tribute to Anthony Daly, Davy Fitzgerald and the rest of the Clare team for introducing ‘The Tunnel Sprint’…
