This is a powerful video…

On Saturday August 8, a GAA match will take place in Parnell Park featuring two teams who are completely made up of players who have received treatment for cancer.

The Professor Hollywood Cup first took place last year in O’Moore Park in Laois, and this year all the proceeds raised will go to St. James’ and St. Luke’s hospitals.

The aim of the game is not only to spread awareness for various forms of cancer, but also to inform people that there is life after cancer and you can regain your fitness and go back to your living your life to the full.

The creators of the event have also compiled this very powerful video where two men who have received treatment for testicular cancer, Fran Carroll and Alan Nestor, share their stories.

They send a great message and encourage young people to get themselves checked if in doubt because, in their words, it costs less than a night out and could give you back your whole life.
