Despite all of Brendan Rodgers’ fine achievements since taking over at Liverpool, this particular JOE still can’t shake off one defining word that encapsulates his time at the club: envelope.
While the Pool boss has toned down some of the cringeworthy comments that came to define his press conferences – “I’ve always said that you can live without water for many days, but you can’t live for a second without hope” is just one quote that instantly springs to mind – the parallels between his verbal gaffes and The Office’s David Brent are uncanny.
