Even if they hadn’t been beaten by Palace, this still would have been a classless move…
Crystal Palace have had an awful start to the season, losing their first seven games, failing to score a single goal and losing their manager Frank De Boer just two months into the new season.
True as all of those things may be, it was a supreme show of arrogance from last year’s Premier League champions Chelsea to stick them all in a video, put it online and expect that karma wouldn’t catch up with them. Not only did the video include the details of Palace’s difficult start, but it also included a particularly harsh graphic of Roy Hodgson in distress (something the internet has been flooded with since his stints as manager of Liverpool and England).

Palace beat Chelsea 2-1 this afternoon after a Wilfried Zaha goal did enough to knock Chelsea out of the top four. Many took to Twitter after the result to point out just why Chelsea shouldn’t have been so quick to highlight their opponent’s record-breaking start to the season…
