WATCH: Punter at the Galway Races cools off by rubbing €50 note over himself

Alan Loughnane

This reminds us of an old diet coke ad…

Yesterday, we saw there was a horse/man on the loose at the Galway Races performing some theatrics behind an oblivious Brian Gleeson.

The coverage of the Galway Races on RTÉ has proven to produce some moments of comedy gold in the past and this year it’s living up to its reputation.

This man was captured today overheating in the background of the shot on RTÉ, but he had a pretty clever, if extravagant, solution to cooling down and eradicating sweat from his brow…

It seems that he was re-enacting a famous scene captured at the Galway Races three years ago when this rich fecker cleared his face of rain with a €50 note.

But to be honest, it just reminds us of this diet coke advert from a few years back…
