The first of many, we hope...

Jason Smyth blitzed the field in his T13 100m metres final at the Rio Paralympics today to claim his fifth Paralympic gold medal. Smyth ran in a time of 10.64 and you can watch the full race here. It's a hugely proud moment for Smyth and it's great to hear the shouts of delight from the Irish supporters who've travelled over to support the sprinter. Our man on the ground over in Rio, Joe Harrington, captured some of the highlights of the day including the race itself, the medal ceremony and the national anthem being played. Great to see... https://twitter.com/JOEdotie/status/774263562441203712
