The Baggot Inn gets the honour of being the first pub in the country to accept the world’s newest currency.
Famous for once being part owned by Jack Charlton and also as one of the Dublin’s best venues for live music, The Baggot Inn added a new feather to its cap last night.
For the sum of BTC 0.0093, it sold a pint of Guinness, believed to be the first pub in the country to accept the digital currency for a drink.
The pub sent out a tweet to tell the world last night.

The boozer also announced that they are getting a Bitcoin ATM in the next few days, so we can all get in on the action.
Bitcoin usage may still be in its infancy as a mainstream currency but if you can buy a pint with it, an awful lot more people are going to be interested in finding out more about it.
