Amazon has confirmed the exact date and time it will launch tens of thousands of discounts on PS5 and Nintendo Switch consoles, top end headphones and Fire Sticks across four days of sales.

Prime Day will begin on 8 July and run until 11 July, according to the retail giant, which means the sale will cover four days – twice as long than previous Prime Day events.

Amazon has also confirmed a list of brands that will take part in the sale despite usually keeping tight lipped about exactly what will be included in the Prime Day sale.

It says Bose, De’ Longhi, Dyson, Lego, Shark, CeraVe, Ninja, and Sonos will all offer discounts across the four days.

It means you can expect air fryers, vacuum cleaners, coffee machines, speakers and headphones to be the main sales.

However, you can also expect Amazon to reduce the price of its own tech including the Echo Dot smart speaker, the Echo Show video device and Fire Sticks, which can be used to watch TV streaming services.

The changes do not stop there. Amazon will also introduce a new type of sale called ‘Today’s Big Deals’which will be big brand price drops for Prime members including limited time discounts launched at midnight each day.

The Amazon Prime Day deals will only be available to those who sign up for a Prime subscription, which costs £8.99 a month and also gives you access to Amazon Prime Video.

You can also try a free trial of Amazon Prime before the sale begins to access all of the benefits completely free across the four days. You can get your free trial here.

Amazon Prime Day is often billed as one of the biggest online sales events of the year, only behind Black Friday in terms of the number and scale of discounts on Amazon.

For those who want to prepare for the sale you can sign up for an account and build product wish lists on Amazon. You can then check the wishlist during the sale to see which items you want to buy have dropped in price.
