How much money? Just $3.2 billion dollars if reports are to be believed. That’s one spicy meatball indeed.

How much money? Just $3.2 billion dollars if reports are to be believed. That’s one spicy meatball indeed.

According to a report in The Financial Times a few ts have to be crossed and lower case js have to be dotted on the deal but it could be completed as early as next week in a move that would mark the most high-profile acquisition in Apple’s history.

As a result of the deal, Apple will take over Beats’ music streaming service and the company’s audio equipment, which, of course, includes the Beats by Dre headphones, named after rap mogul Dr. Dre, who founded Beats Electronics with record producer Jimmy Iovine.

Further reports suggest that Apple will tap into Beats knowledge of designing wearable products ahead of the release of the iWatch, which could be launched alongside the iPhone 6 later this year.

Representatives of both Apple and Beats Electronics have so far kept tight-lipped about a potential deal, but that almost increases the likelihood that it will be announced sometime next week as has been reported.

If you can’t beats ‘em, buy ‘em seems to be the motto as far as Apple are concerned in this case.
