Are Google planning to bring out an Android console?

JOE

With all the talk in the console wars recently focusing on Microsoft on Sony, there could be another player on the market soon enough in the form of Google

It seems like a pretty logical step for the lads at Google to offer an Android console, given that they already control everything else in our lives (if you own an Android-powered robot driven car like ourselves, of course).

Anyhow, they are apparently planning to release a console that runs on Android later this year, according to what the lads at Mashable have discovered, and are hoping that they can challenge the main two in the market.

Given how established the Xbox and PlayStation are however, they may need to pitch their product to a different niche, and they wouldn’t be the only console using Android, after Ouya was released earlier this week.

As of today, there are just under 200 games available for Ouya, and the console costs just $99, so it’s somewhat difficult to see where Google hope to go with their latest device, if they do end up following through with their plan to build one.

Also on their radar is an Android smart watch, something which Apple are apparently working on for their own iOS, but as we reported the other day, Sony are already bringing that creation to life.
