Dry your eyes, it’s not definite yet, just heavily rumoured…
Spotify are reportedly planning on restricting the content available to users in the near future.
According to both Digital Music News and Billboard, from 2016 onward, sources have said that Spotify will be changing their terms of use.
Chief amongst these changes will be that free users no longer have the same access to content as premium users… it is now acceptable to throw a tantrum.
The popular music streaming site is deliberating making certain new releases available only to premium customers, a idea that was recently trialled on Muse’s 10-minute song “The Globalist,” off their album ‘Drones’ this year.
Some of you may not care about this because you have the recently launched Apple Music, but we’re sorry to tell you that there will be no free tier on this after the three-month free trial expires in October.
Looks like it’s back to YouTube Mix for us next year…
