It’s Budget Day.

For the last several years, Budget Day has been a day to dread for just about everyone in the country, sort of like the anti-Christmas.

With an election soon to come and our economic circumstances taking a slight turn for the better, it seems safer to anticipate a 2016 Budget that’s at least a little less harsh than the previous few.

But what would you do with the additional €1.5bn if you were in Michael Noonan’s position? This slick website, People’s Budget, is an interactive tool that lets you decide exactly what to do with the country’s extra spending money this budget day.

The website is a hands-on way to engage with and understand something that most of often only pay attention to the broad details of. Everyone who expects to be affected by today’s Budget announcements (so, everyone) should give it a go.
