Celebs are getting verified Tinder accounts to make it easier to hook up with us normal folk

Those poor celebrities are finding it too hard to convince people it's really them

Those poor celebrities are finding it too hard to convince people it’s really them

Tinder has made the world of dating easier for almost everyone, no more of that pesky “does s/he like me or not?” going on, it’s as easy as a quick swipe and you’re on to the next possible love of your life, but it seems that it hasn’t been an easy ride (pun intended) for everyone. Well, at least not for musicians and movie stars anyway.

Celebrities that have been rumoured to use the service, according to Independent.ie, include Lindsay Lohan, Ashton Kutcher and a host of reality tv stars, and they have apparently complained to founder Sean Rad that they have real difficulty in convincing people that they are who they say they are.

Rad told Time Magazine that there are genuine “A-listers” on the service and that, just like Twitter, the famous folk will get themselves a verified badge so you can be sure that you’re meeting up with the real deal. They too want to use their celebrity power to wow you, but Rad added that it was great to see celebs using the service, saying “it sort of validated our theories that everyone, even people of influence, need help forming relationships”.

So next time you’re absentmindedly swiping your way through a whole host of people, keep an eye out for any people who say that they’re celebs, it could really be them…or it could be Jimmy down the road in his dark dungeon of an attic room wearing no underwear. What we’re saying is just be careful out there.

Hat-tip to Independent.ie for this one and DigitalTrends for the pic
