Click.ie consumer warning

“At a busy and pressurised time of the year for consumers, the CCPC reminds consumers that when buying online they have specific rights under consumer protection law.”

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a warning to consumers regarding technology website Click.ie, which promises “the best prices in the industry” to those who avail of the online retailer.

According to an official statement issued on Monday (2 December), the CCPC is currently investigating the activities of Click.ie from a consumer protection perspective, noting that it has become “concerned” about information supplied to consumers.

The CCPC highlights a number of reports received in relation to delivery, refund and faulty product issues, adding that the investigation is set to continue over the coming weeks.

“At a busy and pressurised time of the year for consumers, the CCPC reminds consumers that when buying online they have specific rights under consumer protection law and all websites, including Click.ie, are required to provide full and correct information,” says the statement.

“We would encourage any consumer experiencing difficulties with Click.ie to contact us so that we can advise them of their rights.

“Consumers can contact us by calling 01 402 5555 or by visiting ccpc.ie.”

JOE has reached out to a Click.ie representative for comment.
