Do you use emoji in texts? Research shows you’re having way more sex than people who don’t

Anyone up for some textual intercourse?

Paul Moore

RIP the full stop.

JOE is very old school when it comes to contacting our partners because we still prefer the personalised touch rather than texting.

Our notes usually read, “roses are red, violets are blue, please for the love of god will you shift me?”

Romantic, eh?

Emojis though are becoming increasingly popular with mobile phone users/tweeters and there seems to be a very ‘bowm-chicka-wow-wow’ reason as to why.

Match.com have recently done a study which shows that people who use emoji in their texts have more sex than those who don’t.

*JOE inserts sexy smiley face thingy here*

54% of the single people in the survey that used emoji in their textual affairs have had regular sex when compared to the 31% of single people who strictly adhered to their love of words and correct usage of grammar.

The survey polled some 5,675 single Americans in their 20s, 30s, and 40s so it’s fairly well representative of the general dating population.

While those smiley, winking and kissing faces might be cringey at times they do also serve as another interesting indicator, 62% of emoji users said they were more open to getting married when compared to 31% of people who refuse to use emoji or walk up the aisle.

See, emoji usage isn’t just for a casual one night frolic between the sheets.

Moral of the story, if you’re looking for a new flame then start sending a few firty rocketships, winky faces and kissy faces. 😉
