Graham Norton revealed as the most dangerous celebrity in the UK to search for online
Graham Norton, of all people!
Charming TV chat show host and West Cork native Graham Norton has been revealed as the most dangerous celebrity name to search for online in the UK.
Thankfully, Graham himself has absolutely nothing to do with such a notorious status, it is entirely to do with the fact that a search of his name online generates the most dangerous results.
Dangerous in this case means online searches that are most likely to bring potentially malicious content to expose users’ personal information.
Norton’s name came out on top of a list of celebrity names in the UK in a study by technology security giant McAfee, the 14th edition in the series.
With people spending more time indoors due to the impact of Covid-19, McAfee says, users have been scouring the internet for content to consume, often searching for free entertainment (movies, TV shows etc) if they can find it.
As these habits increase, so do the potential cyberthreats associated with free internet content.
To conduct their Most Dangerous Celebrities 2020 study, McAfee researched famous individuals to reveal which celebrities generate the most “dangerous” results, with Norton emerging at the top of the pile ahead of Ricky Gervais in second and Tom Hardy in third.
