There’s a lot to take in here.

Samsung have begun 2019 with a bang with two huge Samsung Unpacked events in London and San Francisco on Wednesday night where a whole host of Samsung tech was unveiled.

Of course the main gadget of interest was the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S10, but there was also a number of wearables and some other phones launched on the night as well.

Over at the Samsung website, the Galaxy S10 is available for preorder with 128GB or 512GB storage for €919 and €1,169, while the S10+ is priced at €1,019 for its 128GB version.

While if you opt for the ceramic white or black offerings, the S10+ also has a 512GB version available for €1,169 and a 1TB version available for €1,619. The Galaxy S10e, which offers 128GB storage, is available from €769 SIM-free.B

For Irish customers, it’s the first time that every device, in every colour, in every memory variant is available to purchase in Ireland. It’s also worth noting that if you preorder a Galaxy S10 or S10+ you can claim a free set of wireless Galaxy Buds.

The new S10 also offers a triple-camera array on the back, with a new ultra wide mode and a shot suggestion AI to make your shots professional looking without having to change any of the advanced settings. They’ve also added some new interesting camera effects as well including Instagram integration in the photo app itself.

The new AI software on the Galaxy S10 automatically optimises battery, CPU, RAM, and device temperature, based on how you use your phone, and through continuous use will learn your most frequently used apps and work on ways to launch them quicker.

They’ve also introduced Wireless PowerShare on the Galaxy S10, making it possible to charge Qi-certified smartphones and compatible wearable devices from your phone.

The Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e will land officially in stores and at people’s doors who have preordered online, beginning 8 March, 2019.

Elsewhere, unveiled the highly anticipated Galaxy Fold, a new foldable device was shown and will create a new mobile category.

When folded, the Galaxy Fold measures 4.6 inches, and it opens up to a 7.3-inch display tablet, and in the tablet mode, the device can handle up to three windows at the same time for multitasking.

The Galaxy Fold is equipped with a high-powered, next-generation AP chipset and 12GB of RAM with PC-like performance and it’s also capable of charging itself and a second device simultaneously via Wireless PowerShare.

The phone contains six cameras – three on the back, two on the inside and one on the front – to ensure it can take photos however it is held.

At Samsung Unpacked, the company also revealed a trio of wearable devices in the form of a smartwatch, fitness band and wireless headphones.

The Galaxy Watch Active and the Galaxy Fit are also being added to the lineup. Both devices are water-resistant for swimming, and they can also track your heart rate and sleep.

Finally, Samsung officially debuted its new Galaxy Buds alongside the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+. The Buds can be charged on the back of the company’s new phones via the included case and the PowerShare feature.

You can also trade in your old phone and use the smart switch app if you want to move to Samsung.
