Recession? What recession? Recent statistics from the lads at GameStop reveals that Irish people just can’t wait to get their hands on the latest generation of consoles.

PS4 pre-orders have been stronger in Ireland compared to any other country in the world, according to a comparison of GameStop global pre-order sales.

As for the Microsoft’s latest console, Ireland leads the way in Europe with Xbox One pre-orders with only the Aussies beating us on a global level. So it’s safe to say there are plenty of you currently playing the Xbox, while others are waiting with bated breath for the PS4.

Speaking about the statistics Niall Lawlor, vice-president of GameStop Northern Europe, said, “I can assure them that the wait is well worth it.”

We’ve been lucky enough to get an Xbox One sent into us here in the office, so why not check out JOE’s 24-review of the latest Microsoft console. We’ll have an extended in-depth review next week, so until then, happy gaming folks.
