Irish Netflix users are being warned about a new email scam

Paul Moore

Netflix has over 300,000 Irish subscribers.

Many of you will be aware of malicious phishing scams that arrive in your Inbox but there’s a new threat that’s being reported by Netflix.

If you happen to receive a spam email which asks you to “update your payment method” by logging into your Netflix account, avoid it.

Phishing emails basically claim to be from a trusted source which ask you to click on a link, but they usually just direct you to a page that contains some malware that might let a hacker gain some of your personal information.

Here’s what the content of the email looks like.

Cybersecurity firm Eset have analysed the link and reported that the source of this threat is from Norway, but after taking a closer look, the malicious link redirects users to a Ukrainian web address.

Netflix has advised any of its users that received this email to contact them at [email protected].
