The world’s most awarded smartphone – the brand new, sexy HTC One (M8) – is now exclusively available on the 3 Ireland network in Steel Blue and JOE recently had a chance to take it for a spin.
After setting our ringtone to the 1980s-tastic NERINE, we set about trying out the various features on the device. There’s a ‘Stocks App’ to let you know how much money you don’t have, a ‘Kids Mode’ to make sure the little ones don’t have access to any of Papa JOE’s files, and there’s even a ‘Selfie Setting’ to help you take, well, the perfect selfie. Although you can just turn the phone around back to front to be fair.
Some of our favourite aspects of the phone, however, are the huuuuge screen for watching videos, the brilliant control the user has when using the maps and, amazingly, a ‘Skin Smoother’ feature that helps improve the quality of the skin in photos you’ve taken – something Clearasil hasn’t been able to do since JOE was a spotty-faced 14-year-old.
The device is also jam-packed with the latest HTC Sense™ 6 experience, HTC Duo Camera for advanced imaging, and intuitive Motion Launch™, meaning that the HTC One (M8) delivers a crackin’ smartphone experience.
Here at JOE though, our favourite new feature has to be the intuitive HTC BlinkFeed™, a system that sends the news most relevant to you direct to your home screen in a clean, easy-to-read way. That way, you’ll never miss any of the must-read, hilaaaarious stories appearing on the world’s greatest website, JOE.ie. (That’s this website in case you weren’t sure).
So, if you want a phone to help you stand out from the crowd (and fix your skin – in photos at least) then the sleek brand new HTC One (M8) is the model for you. Enjoy, we certainly did.
