Looks like Twitter’s mobile app will let you hide people’s tweets soon

Have to follow someone but don't want to actually see their tweets? Twitter might have a solution coming your way.

Have to follow someone but don’t want to actually see their tweets? Twitter might have a solution coming your way.

If you use the official Twitter app on your phone, as most of us do, then there could be a very nifty innovation coming your way. It seems that some users have had a mute feature added to their app.

This tweet, posted on Mashable, shows what it looks like.

It would then allow you to hide their tweets without unfollowing, a very handy feature for friends, family or colleagues that you really don’t want to unfollow.

It seems that only a small number of users have been randomly chosen to test the feature but we can’t see any reason why they shouldn’t roll this out to all iOS and Android users real soon.

Other Twitter apps, like Tweetdeck, already offer this service but its addition to the widely used Twitter app would be welcomed by many.
