Now here’s a novel way of getting your video game fix while helping someone in need…

Most marathons require months of gruelling training and tough exercise regimes in order to get your body in the right shape for the task ahead, but Tommy Refenes from the US decided to take part in a much different kind of charity marathon, all in aid of his diabetic mother.

Instead of running around his hometown or taking part in a well-known marathon, Tommy decided to take part in his own ‘Rockstar Games Marathon’.

The marathon took place in Tommy’s sitting room as he decided that for his special marathon he was going to walk around some of Rockstar’s biggest maps. Genius…

Tommy ended up spending a whopping six hours walking around GTA V’s Los Santos; two hours and nine-minutes walking across the map of Red Dead Redemption and four hours nineteen-minutes to complete a walk around Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

His nobel gaming actions helped to make sure his mother raised the $15,000 she needed for a diabetic medical alert dog. Fair play to him.
