Or, rather, in the near future.
Per the latest update from
Emojipedia, you can look forward to unleashing the likes of Melting Face, Biting Lip, Saluting Face, Heart Hands and Hand With Index Finger and Thumb Crossed, the latter wordy one there apparently being quite popular amongst K-pop fans.
The
Unicode 14.0 update includes 838 new characters, of which 37 represents brand new emoji code points.
On top of this, 75 skin tone variations that do not require new code points are being included, making for a grand total of 112 new emojis heading to devices in the coming months.
Our favourite is definitely Saluting Face. Look at him go:

As of the Emoji 14.0 update, there are now a total of 3,663 emojis in the world. What a time to be alive.
Did you know there is even an annual World Emoji Awards? This year's winners included the Most Popular New Emoji which went to Heart on Fire, the Lifetime Achievement Award which went to Loudly Crying Face and the Most Anticipated Emoji which went to the forthcoming Melting Face, as seen below:
