Over 60 million people have stopped playing Angry Birds but it’s not all bad news

So many people have flown the coop...

So many people have flown the nest…

It seems like a lifetime ago since Angry Birds was the game of choice for commuters, people at lunch, students in class and everybody with two minutes to spare in their life.

The reason Angry Birds can take over people’s free time is because it’s right there on your phone, it easy to play and let’s be honest, flinging birds from a catapult is fun.

We thought the craze of Angry Birds was in the past but according to the latest figures from the game’s publisher Rovio, it still has 200 million active users which is up there with Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.

There is some bad news for the developers though because they’ve lost 60 million users in the last 18 months but considering how quickly games and apps burn out now, they’ll be pleased that a 35th of the people on Earth are still on the game.

We’re off to play one game of Angry Birds now. One game, we swear. Okay, we’ll probably talk to you next Thursday.

Hat-tip to The Guardian.
