People are properly pissed off as Pokémon GO servers go down

Nobody panic!

JOE

There’s an argument that we should have all seen this coming.

The Irish release of Pokémon GO was delayed due to unexpected strain on the game’s servers causing them to crash, so should we be surprised that the official launch on these shores has been followed by, you guessed it, the servers crashing?

It’s sunny, it’s the first weekend since Pokémon GO officially landed in Ireland, and there are Pokémon out there waiting to be caught.

After all, that reality won’t augment itself.

People have responded with despair…

And hurt…

And anger…

At the time of writing, there is no immediate indication as to when the servers will be back up and running.

The crash comes on the same day that Pokémon GO received its official launch in more than 20 new European countries, including Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

Australia, New Zealand and the United States were among the first countries to officially gain access to the mobile game, though users elsewhere have been able to download it to their smartphones using workarounds such as changing their App Store location.

While you wait for the servers to come back up, why not revisit some of the best Pokémon GO moments we’ve found so far.
