PIC: Australian police have done everyone who’s sick of those ‘Be like Bill’ memes a huge favour

Conor Heneghan

Fair dinkum to ‘em.

Unless you haven’t accessed your Facebook page for some reason in 2016, you’re bound to have come across at least a million of those ‘Be like Bill’ memes that have been doing the rounds.

Pictures of stickmen accompanied by messages that are meant to be witty and clever but often become tiresome very quickly? Yep, that’s them.

Plenty of people would love to put a stop to them immediately, including the Queensland Police Service, who posted a message on their Facebook page this morning that has since been shared over 24,000 times and counting.

Queensland Police are searching for a man with a very slight build, dark hat and no nose who has been repeatedly disturbing people’s timelines. He answers to the name Bill.

It would be more effective, of course, if the Queensland Police introduced some sort of law against posting these memes on Facebook.

Seeing as that isn’t within their power, however, something like this is probably the next best thing and the message itself appears to be spreading as quickly as the meme did in the first place.

Well played.
