PICS: Thousands of people are attending this ‘bag of cans’-inspired Facebook event in Dublin

Alan Loughnane

Brilliant…

You may remember a few months ago, thousands of Irish people signed up to attend a mysterious Mass event on Facebook that went down an absolute storm.

While the event itself never actually happened, the posts on the page were the best thing about it…

The latest event which is making waves on Facebook is called: “Gonna jump down to Tesco for cans. Want anything?

The event was created by Ciaran Oscar Monaghan and in the details section he warns people: “You may give me a few quid for it now I’m not made of money. Ask your mates if they need anthing but I’m only going down the once.”

Ciaran intends for the event to take place Friday, June 16, between 9pm and 9.45pm and, at time of writing, it has over 8,000 people committed to it with another 10,000 interested.

He’s created a shopping list for his trip down to the shop based on people’s orders…

But orders are still coming in and Ciaran himself said: “I’m just amused it’s still going.”
