If you’re anything like JOE, you have your holidays and life planned around the end of this month because both of the major next-gen consoles are coming out with a mouth-watering selection of titles.

Robert Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard stated that he reckons these new consoles will see their prices cut much sooner than the previous generation of consoles did, and said that thanks to the investment from both companies in the hardware side of things, they can afford to cut production costs a little bit.

Kotick told Digital Spy that there would be plenty of good things to come for both consoles, and that we would see “a very successful next seven or eight years”.

The Xbox One will be starting at €499 for the console and Kinect, while the PlayStation 4 will cost €399 when it launches later this month. The cost of both machines won’t drop in their first few months though, so if you were going to hang on for a while to save a few quid, you could be left waiting.
