Resident Evil 3 Nemesis

S.T.A.R.S!

Every generation has its unique trauma.

For your parents, it could be the moment in Jaws when the diver that’s missing an eye just floated into screen for that fantastic jump scare. People of a certain age might be traumatised by Watership Down, Robert Stack’s voice in Unsolved Mysteries, or the ending of The Blair Witch Project.

However, when it comes to gaming, the delivery of one acronym is synonymous with terror, fear, and sheer ‘holy shit, we need to run before this thing tears us limb-from-limb!’ sweat-inducing panic.

It’s of course the Nemesis from Resident Evil 3 as he hunts down every single member of the Special Tactics and Rescue Service, better known as S.T.A.R.S.

Oh yes, gone were the days of Resident Evil 1 and 2 when you could just escape a horde of zombies by simply leaving the room. In the third edition of the beloved franchise, this scary fecker actually chased you down, burst through the walls, and jumped through windows in pursuit.

All this without mentioning the fact he had a massive f**k off gun that raze a small building to the ground.

Well, it appears that Capcom are working on a Resident Evil 3: Nemesis remake, according to new reports.

To be honest, this news isn’t that surprising considering Capcom have already released a remake of Resident Evil 2 this year, but we’re still very excited of the prospect of what’s in store.

Eurogamer have reported that the remake is in the works and that it will reportedly be released in 2020.

Let the countdown to the nuking of Raccoon City begin.
