RIP social life. The Sims is coming to your mobile phone

Rory Cashin

If you thought Pokemon Go was a devourer of your free time, you ain’t seen nothing yet…

Having arrived right at the turn of the millennium, spawning numerous sequels and spin-offs, not to mention getting prominent mention on our list of video-games that rewrote the rule-book, The Sims series has sold in excess of 200 million copies.

(Speaking of which, how long can it really be until Hollywood somehow makes a movie out of it?)

Anyways, you now no longer need a PC or console to construct a perfect life out of nothing for your set of characters, before ruining it with the power of God but starting a fire and drowning everyone in the pool.

The first look at the in-game footage is below, and it looks pretty much on par with what we’ve seen from the series already, and while it doesn’t have an actual set release date yet, it does look like we can get our power-hungry hands it before 2017 is through.

Although… can we just discuss one of the conversations in here? Where two folk are chatting in a living room and one of the options is “Confess To Affair”? Has The Sims always been this emotionally dark? Can you imagine living your Sims life and thinking everything is going super well with your Sims partner, and then you find out they Sims cheated on you?

The Sims heartbreak is real, you guys.
