Have scientists just found proof of alien life?

A Harvard professor has put forward a very interesting theory.

It's after mysterious signals were first discovered in 2007 - now Avi Loeb of the Harvard Center for Astrophysics says that they could be evidence of advanced alien technology. He believes it is leakage from planet-sized transmitters in distant galaxies. The problem is, Loeb believes, is that we don't understand what these messages mean. The fast radio bursts have puzzled scientists for a decade - now the Harvard Professor told the Independent it could plausibly be alien life, especially as the bursts are in organised patterns. "An artificial origin is worth contemplating and checking.” Loeb and fellow Harvard academic Manasvi Lingam have explored whether the messages could emanate from a radio transmitter, in a paper to be published by The Astrophysical Journal Letters. This kind of technology is too advanced for current human capability but they say it is not beyond the laws of physics or out of the reach of a very developed alien civilisation.
