The filter has since been removed.
For the second time in a number of months, Snapchat has been criticised by a significant number of users following the introduction of a filter that many deemed to be racist.
The filter gave users slanty eyes, blushed cheeks and oversized teeth and caused an angry reaction from a number of users on Twitter when it was introduced on Tuesday.

In April of this year, Snapchat caused consternation amongst users of the hugely popular social media app when it introduced a Bob Marley filter to mark 4/20, a marijuana commemoration day on April 20.
Commenting on the reaction to the introduction of the latest filter, a Snapchat spokesperson told the Daily Dot that the filter has expired and will not be put back into circulation and that Snapchat lenses are never intended to offend.
