According to BuzzFeed, Facebook is currently testing out a 'shop section' which will allow users to buy products from certain companies via a 'buy' button on their page.
Virtually every brand you can think of has representation on Facebook to keep fans up to date with the various products they have available.
Rather than having to redirect them to a website to shop directly, they will soon be able to shop directly via the Facebook page in the near future.
Facebook tried something similar with the likes of Gap and Gamestop in 2011 and it proved unsuccessful, but time moves quickly in the Internet world and online shopping through sites like Google and Twitter is now commonplace.
The 'shop section' is still in the testing phase for now, but it seems a fairly logical move from Facebook's point of view; it looks like the average time we're said to spend on the site every day is set for a significant increase.
