Three Ireland will refund any customer who recently received incorrect charges
Some customers received incorrect charges.
Three Ireland have said that they will refund those customers who recently had incorrect amounts charged from their accounts.
Various customers were left unable to make calls, send texts or access the internet after credit was incorrectly taken from their accounts.
The network have said that this issue was caused by an IT system upgrade.
In a statement, they said: "Due to an error with an IT system upgrade some customers received SMS yesterday about charges that may have applied incorrectly to their account. Prepay customers will be refunded by 9pm today. Bill pay customers will be rectified on next bill. We apologise for any inconvenience."
The issue was first raised last night when various Three customers received an SMS which advised them that they had zero credit and/or had reached their roaming limit.
We are aware that some customers may have received an SMS today advising on incorrect usage. We are currently working to resolve this as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience but for now please disregard this message.
