AdTrap is a new invention that can block the ads on your computer when browsing the internet

Most of us won’t even remember a time before the internet had ads, but we’ve been assured that it did exist back in the day when no one actually used the internet except the five richest kings in Europe, who could afford to own computers.

However, it seems the guys behind AdTrap, Chad Russell and Charles Butkus, hark back to those days, and want to get rid of ads on your computer. Not just the annoying pop-ups and windows that won’t close, but even the embedded ads on websites.

According to Mashable, you simply plug the device in between your router and modem, and it will block ads from videos, websites, music, or whatever else you want, so that you can get back to enjoying the content, reading articles and getting some work done.

However, Russell and Butkus say they don’t want to get total ad exclusion, as you can set a whitelist from advertisers that you trust or that you buy from, and that they have been contacted by ad representatives who want to work with them.

The device costs $139, and can be bought on their website, while currently the company’s founders are looking at selling it in retail outlets soon.
