Twitter Moments has officially launched in Ireland – Here’s everything that you need to know

Paul Moore

You’ll be seeing this icon on your Twitter.

Twitter has launched the Twitter Moments tab in Ireland today. The Moments guide is a new way to find and dive into the most compelling stories on Twitter in an instant. This means immediate access to curated content around the biggest stories and most interesting topics of the day – anything from sports to music to politics to news to live events.

Moments is designed to help you find the best of Twitter as easily as tapping an icon – regardless of who you follow.

As new stories emerge throughout the day, the tab will update. Users are also able to swipe through to specific topics like Entertainment or Sports. For stories that update frequently, there is an option to follow the Moment which blends the Tweets directly into your timeline. This disappears once the story is over.

So how does it work?

  • When you click into a Moment, you’re taken to an introduction with a title and description.
  • Start swiping to dive right into the story, with pictures and autoplaying videos, Vines, and GIFs.
  • A single tap gives you a fuller view of the Tweet, which you can favourite, Retweet, and more. A double tap lets you instantly favourite the Tweet.
  • The progress bar at the bottom indicates how much more each Moment has to offer.
  • Swiping up or down dismisses the Moment and takes you back to the guide.
  • At the end of a Moment, click the share button to Tweet your thoughts, and send it out to your followers.
