If you use Tinder, Facebook’s new update is going to be very, very popular

Facebook dating

Interesting development for any single people.

Facebook have announced plans to add a dating application to its main mobile app.

Mark Zuckerberg announced the news during the company’s F8 developers conference in San Jose, California.

With more than 2.2 billion monthly active users, Facebook should now be a major competitor of Match Group – they own and operate the mobile dating app Tinder and popular dating platform OkCupid.

As reported by The Verge, Zuckerberg jokingly said that “this is going to be for building real, long-term relationships — not just for hookups.”

The new dating function is going to exist within the main Facebook app, but it will be completely optional. Basically, anyone that uses this new dating app will have to opt-in.

“We have designed this with privacy and safety in mind from the beginning. Your friends aren’t going to see your profile, and you’re only going to be suggested to people who are not your friends.”

For anyone that’s single, the dating pond is about to get much bigger.
