Xbox 360 & PS3 owners rejoice! There’s a new Assassin’s Creed game coming out just for you that will see you playing as a Templar.

For the first time in the Assassin’s Creed franchise history gamers will be able to play as a Templar who’s mission it is to seek out and hunt down the assassins in Assassin’s Creed Rogue. The Templar in question, Shay Patrick Cormac, also sounds like he may be Irish, which would be kind of cool…

So, what’s Assassin’s Creed Rogue all about? Here’s what Ubisoft have to say over on the official Assassin’s Creed website: “18th century, North America. Amidst the chaos and violence of the French and Indian War, Shay Patrick Cormac, a fearless young member of the Brotherhood of Assassins, undergoes a dark transformation that will forever shape the future of the American colonies.

“After a dangerous mission gone tragically wrong, Shay turns his back on the Assassins who, in response, attempt to end his life. Cast aside by those he once called brothers, Shay sets out on a mission to wipe out all who turned against him and ultimately become the most feared Assassin hunter in history.”

There’s also an interesting note about Shay over on the Assassin’s Creed Wikia site that states: “Shay’s name is the anglicised form of the Gaelic Séaghdha, which means ‘hawk’. His middle name comes from the Latin Patricius, meaning ‘nobleman’. His family name means ‘son of corruption’ from Gaelic Corb: ‘defilement, corruption’ and Mac: ‘son’.”

So there’s definitely some Irish in him somewhere…
